The Camaro is manufactured by General Motor under the Chevrolet Brand, classified as a pony car and some version a muscle car. The Camaro went on sale on September 29, 1966. The 1967 model was designed as a competing model for the Ford Mustang. The Camaro shared its platform and major components with the 1967 Pontiac Firebird. There were four distinct generations developed before production ended in 2002. The fifth generation production developed on march 16, 2009.

Small block Ford (SBF) was introduced by Ford in 1962 as
part of Ford “Total Performance.” The Ford Windsor design succeeded the Ford
Y-block engine family rendering the latter obsolete for performance purposes.
These motors were originally produced at Ford’s Windsor, Ontario engine plant.
From 1969, the Ford small blocks were produced in Cleveland, Ohio.
